So finally winter got to us, I hope to all of you out there, and with this global warming thing, believe me, you should take advantage of every snow flake out there because I don’t know how many of those are still left; but let’s not get all moody and enjoy the white season: ski, ride, slide, take your snowmobile for a ride, walk and enjoy the clean strong air or just singing carols under the Christmas tree.
Not really decided on what to do?... not a problem I’ will quickly run with you trough all these activities and help you find the one that’s going to be most fun for you. To begin with, all of you will eventually get to the Christmas carols part, so I don’t think you need any help with that one. If you are planning a nice vacation with your family but still you aren’t that much into sports and outdoor activities, just play it safely and enjoy the walks through the forest or around your resort. Be careful not to roam on tracks or runs which are not marked or if they are clearly marked as closed or hazardous. Always carry your cell phone with you incase that something happens you are just a phone call away from being home safe. It would hurt keeping an eye on the weather forecast as well.
If you feel like walking and exploring nature (or your resort) wears you out you may want to try taking the snowmobile fro a fun ride; it’s one of the simplest and funniest activities, driving skills requirements are to a minimum, so don’t worry about it as your local renting place will give you the requires heads up on everything. Again it is very important not to venture on unmarked terrain; have your mobile phone with you; a good idea is to take an organized tour with a professional guide at least in the beginning. Snowmobiles are more like ATVs except instead of wheels it uses rubber tracks so they function pretty much on the same principle as motorcycles or mopeds.
Now for those of you who want to try something more physical ski and snowboarding is the way to go. If you are a total beginner there’s no shame in that, you can take any of these sports no matter what your age is and believe me you will have a lot of fun. If you already have some proficiency into any of the above the only problem would be choosing the right resort or finding the free time for the fun on the slopes. If you aren’t’ quite sure which of these two would be more appropriate for you I’ll give you a hand in finding that out on the next article.
Until then, have fun, be safe and enjoy the snowflakes!
