Joy Douglas an ardent breast cancer awareness devotee wants to support her cause in all possible ways, even if this means dyeing her dog in pink and receiving a fine for it.
Joy Douglas is a well intentioned lady who wants to support the breast cancer research and breast cancer awareness. In her attempt to do that, Joy has a pink car, a pink scooter and a pink dog. In case you did not know the breast cancer ribbon is pink. Joy has recently dyed her poodle in pink, using natural colors only, to support the breast cancer research. Some think she went too far by doing that, because even if the intention was good, she got a fine for 1000 dollars.
An ordinance in Boulder city, where Joy lives and works and raises money for breast cancer research, says that the animals or fowls should not be dyed or colored, and this is the reason why Joy Douglas got the 1000 dollars fine. However, Joy- who is hair saloon owner does not want to pay the fine, claiming that she as well as her poodle has the right to support her righteous cause. So, she will go to court in April to support her active breast cancer fight and reject the payment of the fine. After all, the dye she used was 100% natural, and she didn’t even harm the poodle in any way. Cici the poodle is healthy and looks good, being somehow proud like a poodle of the pink she wears to hold up the breast cancer research (if she were only aware of that; however it seems that the pink dog is not affected by her color). Despite all these facts, the animal control officials still hold it strong that Joy has no right to dye her dog, even if she didn’t employ any chemicals in the process. Let’s see what happens in court the following month.
So, what do you think? Is Joy Douglas from Boulder city entitled to dye her poodle in pink for a noble cause such as breast cancer awareness, or is she exaggerating? Is that too much and breaches the animal ‘rights’?
All in all, fighting for breast cancer awareness is a gracious thing to do. But is it all right to do whatever it takes to get closer to your goals including a demeaning act on a pet- such as dying it pink?
