Proteins- the Key to a Healthy Life

Proteins are responsible for the strength of muscles and bones. The proteins also help in coordination and normal reaction time. In addition, the intake of protein is essential to the normal balance of everyday life.

Where do I get my proteins from? Proteins are present in most animal origin products such as meat, fish, dairy products and eggs. Vegans have also some protein rich foods such as different kinds of nuts and seeds, vegetables, and soy products. Researches have shown that there is no notable difference between animal and vegetable proteins, so these are both beneficial and healthy at the same extent.

The protein rich foods are numerous: pork, turkey, ham, poultry meat, fish, milk, cheese, eggs, soy milk, tofu, soy beans, beans, corn, nuts, seeds, peas, vegetables, so having a normal diet should include a few from the list of high protein foods.

How much protein should I eat per day? The amount of protein you should consume is according to your body weight. So for each kilo of your body weight, you should eat 0.8g of proteins. For instance, if you weigh 70 kilos, you should eat around 56 grams of proteins. So, check out the list of high protein foods. However, teenagers, athletes and nursing mothers should eat more proteins to help them in their extra activities (growing, sports or nursing).

A special care should be taken by the elderly people. They need muscle and bone strength, so they should watch out to eat many high protein foods. it is recommended that they eat protein rich foods for each meal.

In case your intake of proteins is lower than it should be, you should consider some protein supplements. These protein supplements are also very healthy products and are easily assimilated by the body.

So, choose to eat high protein foods and ensure the required amount of proteins for each day and you will be sturdy and vigorous for your entire life.
