Here’s what to expect from Oslo, when you are in Norway and you want some great places to visit.

Norway is a breathtaking Scandinavian country and it is a pleasure to the sight: it has a lot of Norway tourist attractions consisting of fjords, lakes, mountains, museums, reindeer, trolls, and the list could go on endlessly.

Oslo is the biggest city in Norway and it has also the record number of people in the entire country. However, you will find it very interesting that, despite its size and the great number of inhabitants, Norway is a cozy city, which makes you feel at home. The capital city of Norway is a mixture of Norway history and up to date facts and museums. While going through Oslo, you can easily get lost in the Karl Johannsgate in the myriad shops that are aligned from the central station to the royal palate. On the other hand, you can also get a taste of Norwegian landscape and go in the forests and wild parks that are inside and outside Oslo. The Oslo fjord is also a place you need to go, so jump on a boat and enjoy the Scandinavian landscape with fjords and islets of incredible beauty.
You can also take a walk in the harbor where you can eat fresh fish of all sorts or simply watch the boats and ships come and go. There’s the Museum of Thor Heyerdahl Kon-Tiki and the Viking embarks the museum which might be of interest to you.

There are quite a few museum of art in Oslo. For traditional art, you should visit the National gallery. For a glimpse of post modern art, go to the Contemporary Museum of Art, where you can find temporary exhibitions of famous artists from our times. Edward Munch’s museum is also a great place to go for a bit of modern expressionist painting.

In addition, you can also see some great pieces of architecture: the Royal Palace and the Parliament, plus the castle of Åkershus. Don’t forget the Vigeland Park which has impressive sculptures that will leave no one indifferent. Spending an evening in the park, walking and admiring the sculptures and relaxing will make the experience an unforgettable one, and you will want to go back to Oslo.
