Fast food is food that can be prepared and served very quickly. The history of fast food begins in America in 1912 when it was inaugurated a restaurant called the Automat. To deal with the big demand , people have built quickly lots of Automat restaurants. The company popularized the concept of "fast food , ready to go" with their slogan "less work for mother" and allowed customers to see the food being prepared , witch was one of the most important among its inovations.

Dick and Mac McDonald founded in 1940 the largest fast-food chain in the world called McDonald's.In 1948 the broders have transformed their restaurant into a walk-up stand offering a simple menu of hamburgers, french fries, coffee, and Coca-Cola, served in disposable paper wrappingwich could be served constantly, without waiting for customer orders.

Today fast food brings to our minds traditional American fast food such as hamburgers and fries , witch is the most popular form of fast food.

America has been called a "fast food nation", and for good reason. In the United States consumers spend more then 100 billions dollars on fast-food even if it has been losing market share to fast casual restaurants, which offer more robust and expensive cuisines.Even if fast food restaurants are often the cheapest option , they are not the most nutritious too.Generally, fast food meals are higher in calories, sodium and fat, and often lacking in important vitamins and minerals.Eating too much fat, especially saturated and trans fat, can raise your blood cholesterol levels and put you at a higher risk for heart disease, stroke, diabetes and some types of cancer.

Most fast food isn't healthy, but it's not like a lot other restaurant food is, either. In my opinion , we should not band fast food restaurants , we should educate ourselves on how often to go there and to control our diet.Nowadays , we have some healthy fast food choices too recently added to their menu. Most fast food restaurants now offer a selection
of healthier, lower-fat choices and post this nutrition information on their web sites.

So why fast-food ? The answer is simple : Fast Food for a Fast World ! It's convenient , we can find them everywhere , it's quick , it offers variety , it's inexpensive and it's delicious .
